National Resources
- Generations United National Center on Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children seeks to improve the quality of life of these caregivers and the children they are raising. Articles, legal issues, advocacy, innovative programs and other resources.
- AARP Grandparent Information Center offers articles and booklets on topics such as handling difficult behavior, tax issues, finding medical insurance, advocacy, local resources and a newsletter for grandparent caregivers.
Philadelphia Area Resources
- Family Friends Kinship Support Program is a program of Temple Universitys Center for Intergenerational Learning which provides services for children and grandparent caregivers including respite and social work services and referrals. Call (215) 204-3199.
- Grandma's Kids is another Center for Intergenerational Learning program. This one provides services for children and grandparent caregivers including after school programs, recreational outings, social work services, and referral services. Call (215) 204-3105.
- GrandCentral provides services for grandparent caregivers including information, referrals, workshops and support groups. Call (215) 557-1554.
- Seniors Raising Children is program of the Supportive Older Women Network which provides services to grandparent caregivers including support groups and social work services. Call (215) 477-6000.
- The Kids n Kin program of the Philadelphia Society for Services to Children provides services to kinship families including social work services. Call (215) 875-3400.
