Philadelphia Senior Center seeks an AmeriCorps VISTA member for a year-long experience, starting in July, 2008. (Applications will be accepted starting April 1, 2008.) You will help build a new communications campaign for one of the leaders in the aging field – Philadelphia Senior Center. Located in the heart of one of the top media markets in America, you will shape a multi-media strategy to spread our message to a diverse population and attract new members, donors, volunteers and partners.
Expand your skills, or develop new ones, in media writing, Internet publicity, website development, newsletter production, community event production, outreach, guerilla marketing, strategic communications, and more. The position will also work to expand our community rental program.
Qualifications:
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Experience in community relations, sales, marketing, public relations
-Strong planning and organizational skills
-Program/project management and event planning experience
-Working knowledge and experience with computer technology
-Experience in web development and Internet marketing a plus
Compensation:
-$949 monthly stipend
-$4,725 Education Award or $1,200 Stipend
