VISTA Opportunity: Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pennsylvania (BBBSPA) is currently, actively searching for at least eight (8) caring, full time adult national community service volunteers willing to make magic happen for local kids in various counties across Pennsylvania. The counties include: Bradford, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fayette, Juniata, Lebanon, Lancaster, Perry, Pittsburgh, and Westmoreland.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is searching for highly motivated, passionate, well-spoken individuals to implement volunteer recruitment, mentor retention and the development of the agency. Big Brothers Big Sisters is recognized as the premier one-to-one mentoring organization in the country. The vision of BBBS is to provide successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them; contributing to better schools, brighter futures, and stronger communities for all.
Core responsibilities will include:
(1) Working to raise awareness about the agency through talking with local organizations and community people;
(2) Planning events, activities, and conducting trainings which will support the children (Littles) and volunteer mentors (Bigs) in our program;
(3) Increasing sustainable funding to the agency by: helping write grants, cultivating donors, and developing new partnerships with local businesses and organizations.

•Receive choice between a $4,725 Education Award or a $1200 Stipend, upon successful end of service completion.
