Managing the Green at the Red Cross
Accounting Volunteer:
The Accounting Department is in need of a committed and skilled volunteer to work alongside the Financial Coordinator.
Duties include:
* Working closely with Financial Coordinator to manage vendor pricing and relationships, and provide support for Chapter purchases.
* Obtaining quotes and placing orders.
* Maintaining records and invoice reconciliation.
Job Experience Required:
* Purchasing experience
* Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office suite, and Outlook.
* Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills. Detail oriented and excellent with deadlines and follow-up.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
* Willingness to take on this task for a minimum of 1 year, preferably longer.
* Ability to commit to 10-20 hours per week.
Accounts Receivable Clerk:
The Accounts Receivable Clerk will support the Accounting department with daily responsibilities with regards to the cash receipts for Accounts Receivable. These postings will be in 2 different AR systems.
Duties include:
* Posting AR cash receipts daily
* Reconciling AR payments for month end close
Job Experience Required:
* Some knowledge of Accounts Receivable either through educational classes taken or with actual job experience is a plus.
* Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office suite, Outlook.
* Detail-oriented and excellent with deadlines and follow-up.
* Maintain a good working relationship with co-workers.
* Ability to commit to 10-20 hours per week.
