“KIDS ARE PEOPLE, TOO!” Help make this more than just a statement by filling our Youth Council Coordinator position. As the Youth Council Coordinator, you will set up youth leadership councils in our after school programs, help strengthen ‘youth voice’, facilitate leadership development and inspire youth to become agents of change in their communities. Hurry, our youth need YOU! This is a paid 1 year AmeriCorps* VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) position.
DUTIES
1. Create a recruitment and retention plan for agency councils.
2. Learn and implement proper meeting protocol (i.e. Roberts Rule of Order)
3. Elect officers
4. Conduct periodical meetings between Youth Council officers and program staff
5. Assist Youth Council participants in planning events for youth
6. Youth council will create an assessment tool to gauge youth satisfaction of programming activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferred
COMPENSATION:
AmeriCorps*VISTA Position (http://www.americorps.org)
$949 monthly stipend
$4,725 Education Award or $1,200 end of service stipend

To Our Children's Future With Health, Inc.’s youth programs provide opportunities for at risk youth to build leadership skills and become powerful agents of change in their communities. As the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator- AmeriCorps*VISTA you will create an infrastructure that will increase the number of youth enrolled in the programs supported by To Our Children's Future With Health, Inc.
DUTIES
1. Develop agency policy, protocols, and procedures concerning outreach and recruitment across the agency
2. Assist in the organization, implementation, and facilitation of recruitment campaigns for agency programs.
3. Create recruitment materials and publications.
4. Support staff with periodic updates of the agency website.
5. Identify and implement best practices to ensure effective and efficient recruitment practices.
6. Gather information from data base and other sources.
