Anita Rogers
Im Anita Rogers. Over the past 30 years, I have worked with administrators, volunteers and community groups that provide education, civil rights, and mental health and human services. I have done so in a number of roles: director, fundraiser, program developer, evaluator, strategic planner, teacher and trainer.
The groups I have worked with include the Philadelphia Department of Human Services, National Urban League, Opportunities Industrialization Center, US Center for Mental Health Services and many Philadelphia community agencies. In my work, I have addressed such issues as HIV/AIDS, violence, child abuse/neglect, intercultural understanding, substance abuse prevention, early childhood development and community development.
I also have written nationally distributed articles, manuals, videos, and handbooks about mentoring and other kinds of volunteering, intergenerational programs, school desegregation and conflict resolution.
My newest community-oriented project is being a talk show radio host for the program, Did Ya Know? which airs the second Tuesday of every month from 6 to 7 p.m. on WDAS AM, 1480.
