I’m Lauren Hansen-Flaschen. I am the first AmeriCorps VISTA member (Volunteers In Service to America) to work at Coming of Age. As the Coming of Age Program Associate, I work closely with the director on many aspects of the initiative. I assist in the development and implementation of Coming of Age programs such as Boomervision!®, Boomers Night Out! and workshops. I have updated information on the subsections on the website, added new topics, and created contributing photo-articles.

 

Working with Coming of Age makes for my second year serving as an AmeriCorps member. Before becoming a VISTA I served with the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps in Western Region of the U.S. Through these programs I have gained experience in working with different nonprofit organizations in diverse communities.

 

My passion is photography. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with professional photographers, co-taught photography classes and have had several shows of my work presented.

 

I have a B.A. in Religious Studies and Sociology from Boston University. I plan to pursue my interests by working in the nonprofit field, intercultural communications and, of course, photography.
