Andrea Taylor

I’m Andrea Taylor, Director of Training at Temple University’s Center for Intergenerational Learning. Throughout my career, I’ve been active in recruiting, training and supervising volunteers for private and non-profit organizations, universities, school districts and federal and state agencies.

At the Center, I developed Across Ages, an intergenerational mentoring program that promotes positive youth development and helps prevent school failure, substance abuse and teen pregnancies.

People 50+ volunteering to work with younger people, I believe, is one of the most satisfying sorts of volunteering there is— for all concerned!  In connection with this interest, I serve on the Executive Panel on Youth Mentoring and on the National Research Summit Panel on Mentoring.

In 2005, I co-chaired the “50+ Volunteering— The Wave of the Future” conference sponsored by Coming of Age, designed to help organizations learn how to engage 50+ volunteers.
