Brian Duke
I’m Brian Duke. I co-lead WHYY’s Caring Community
coalition which focuses on caregiving, end-of-life and chronic illness
issues. The group is made up of over 100 community-based
organizations.
I also work with groups such as the U.S. Administration on Aging
and the AARP Foundation to help them create and maintain services for
family caregivers and care recipients.
I am past President of the Board of Directors of Children of Aging
Parents (CAPS). My interest in the challenges that face
caregivers began during my experience as a caregiver for my late mother
who had Alzheimer’s disease.
For eighteen years I worked in health service administration
including being the Director of Geriatric Program Initiatives with the
Institute on Aging of the University of Pennsylvania.
I received my Master’s degree in Health Services Administration
from The George Washington University and a Master of Bioethics degree
from the University of Pennsylvania.
