Centro Nueva Creación's mission is to build hope in Fairhill and surrounding neighborhoods by providing opportunities for youth and families to transform their community. We fulfill this mission through educational programs in technology and the arts.

The center operates an After-School Program, summer camp, and a community photo arts program known as The Goodlands®. This program seeks to address the negative stereotype of North Philadelphia as "The Badlands". AmeriCorps Keywords - Grant Writing, Public Relations, Child Advocacy, Arts, Latino Serving

The Resource Development position is ideal for an individual who has a strong interest in community advocacy through grant writing, outreach and public relations. The VISTA will be primarily responsible for the grant funding initiatives of Centro Nueva Creacion.

This position will also include a great deal of networking; you will act as an advocate for Centro and help develop initiatives to ensure that the business model can be achieved. The VISTA will also be entrusted with a myriad of daily activities including, but not limited to: maintenance and upkeep of our fundraising database, creating and maintaining foundation contacts, program marketing, press releases and external communications, and the coordination of our annual fundraising drive.

The VISTA will also have an opportunity to help draw recognition for our young Goodlands® artists through assisting with gallery openings, working on the commercialization of the arts program and promoting their works in the media.
