SquashSmarts

SquashSmarts is a nonprofit organization that combines the sport of squash with tutoring and mentoring of under-served, urban youth in order to develop self-esteem and discipline while achieving in academics and sports. Volunteers are needed as tutors, mentors, and squash instructors. It is rewarding and fun. Watch this video to see and hear what this program means to the participants. Marketing Maven for Lawyers for the Arts

New Jersey Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (“NJVLA”), a nonprofit that provides legal education, representation, and other legal services to New Jersey’s arts community (particularly low income artists and non-profit arts programs), is eager to engage a retired marketing or public relations professional as a Volunteer.  This person would work from home to help the organization increase its visibility and capacity, with the "branding" of NJVLA a pressing need. Bring the Gift of Reading to Adults

Lutheran Settlement House's Adult Literacy Tutoring Program offers adult learners the chance to develop lifelong learning skills that will substantially increase their overall opportunities in life. Volunteer Tutors who can commit two hours each week for a minimum of 10 weeks are needed. This can be done to fit your schedule and your learner’s needs. Lutheran Settlement House will provide all learning materials, a safe location for tutoring sessions, training, and access to like-minded volunteers to share tutoring tips and advice. Are You Ready for the Olympics?

PHILADELPHIA READS invites you to be a Volunteer Moderator and Scorekeeper for the 7th annual Philadelphia Reading Olympics competitions being held at a number of college campuses in May. The Olympics is the culmination of a full-year team-building reading program and includes 1800 Philadelphia students from grades 4-8. As a volunteer, you will ask questions during the competition and keep score. Training will take place on-site, the morning of the event.
