If I volunteer without transportation, how would I get to and from the place where I'm volunteering? Suppose I am a person with a disability on a fixed income but still want to volunteer?

Many agencies provide tokens to assist their volunteers. As you explore volunteer options, make sure you ask what provisions are available to assist volunteers with transportation cost. You may also want to call the the area's government department for persons with disabilities. They should be able to give you a list of possibilities.
