The Train the Brain study at Columbia University’s Irving Medical Center is conducting a 100% online research study on whether cognitive training can improve mental abilities. No medications or invasive examinations are involved. We are currently in the process of recruiting participants. Here are some additional details of the study.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 60-75 years old
  • In generally good health
  • English is your first language
  • Able to use computer/mouse and internet

Time Commitment

  • Two sessions consisting of cognitive tests and questionnaires (around two hours each)
  • 13 online training sessions that are ~ 50 minutes each (except the 1st session, which will last about ~1h20)
  • As part of the study, we require participants to consistently participate in training sessions over the span of around 5 weeks. Therefore, if you will be out of town for any part of this study, you must have access to a computer and internet in order to complete your sessions on time
    Participants are compensated up to $250 for completing the study.
